General Information

Greendale School is a primary school catering for student from years 1-6. We are located 13kms from Darfield and 50kms west of Christchurch.

Greendale School thrives in a strong and supportive family and community atmosphere. We have a positive school culture and family-feel to our small, rural school. We have a strong emphasis on building student’s self-esteem and well-being.

Our one school block contains two spacious classrooms, a modern breakout teaching space, well-resourced library, staffroom, office, resource room and teacher’s aide room. Outdoors you will find our indoor covered heated swimming pool, two adventure playgrounds, paved netball court/tennis court, sports shed, a large grassed area and caretaker’s sheds.

The school is extremely well resourced with fibre optic broadband supporting wireless iPads, computers and interactive whiteboards. The quality and availability of resources within the school is predominantly due to the ongoing support and fundraising efforts of the Greendale School community.

Our rural school in Greendale is located not far from the picturesque Greendale domain with cricket grounds, tennis courts, bbq area, playground, hall and sports pavilion.

Our school vision that we are a great place to L.E.A.R.N encompasses our values- “Lifelong learner”, “Excellence”, “Actively involved”, “Relationships” and “Now and in the future”.

Greendale School reflects New-Zealand’s cultural diversity and the unique position of Maori Culture by providing Tikanga (Maori culture) and Te Reo Maori (language).

Kind regards,
Carey-Anne Hamilton - Principal
